I voted other, casting a vote for the game that I have been playing on for the past 6 years, and the server I have played and now DM'd on for almost 2 years. Neverwinter Nights 1 is an older game, however it allows us to build and script the areas to look the way we like, and we have some very talented builders that have made a beautiful simulation of Middle Earth, in the years leading up to the War of the Ring. All of our administrators and most of our players are Tolkien fans, and we take great pains at trying to come close to matching the feeling of Arda.

If you have never played Neverwinter Nights 1, its still available in stores. You can find the Diamond Edition for roughly $20 US currency. Considering it includes all expansions and the game is still being supported by Bioware with patches and additions, thats well over a $200 value.

Thanks for letting us know about it I'll have to look at it. i love the way people are adapting games to fit Tolkien's world.
Another non-L.O.T.R. game that I play is Age Of Mythology. A mod has been created for it which includes Middle-earth factions and a L.O.T.R. campaign - it's called Legends Of Middle-earth. To download it you will need to first of all need to install Diino (available at http://www.diino.com/). Enter lomefiles as the username and guardian as the password to access the files.
